Just in: Security Guard Shot Dead by Gunmen at Kasangati School

Police have launched a manhunt for unknown gunmen who this Thursday afternoon attacked a school in Kasangati, Wakiso district, killing a security guard and injuring another.

The attack happened at around 1pm in the afternoon at St. Edwards College Galamba in Gombe Division, according to Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesman, Luke Owoyesigire.

“Unknown persons attacked the college and killed Anguyo Christopher, a 29-year-old guard,” he said.

“Another guard, Okwang Ceasar, aged 26, was seriously injured and is currently receiving treatment at Mulago Hospital.”

Police who rushed to the scene, found a rope with suspected blood stains, damaged bow, and arrows as a well as the phone which belonged to the deceased.

“The deceased’s body was taken to the City Mortuary for post-mortem. No arrests have been made yet, but the police have launched a full investigation to apprehend the culprits.” said the police spokesman.

“The motive of the murder is currently unknown since nothing is missing at school. We would like to assure the public that we will do everything in our power to bring the perpetrators to justice and ensure the safety of everyone in the community.”
