TUPSA Gears Up for the 2024 Private Security Symposium Following Strategic Meeting at Fareway Hotel

The Uganda Private Security Association (TUPSA) held a pivotal planning session at FarewayHotel recently, setting the stage for the much-anticipated Private Security Symposium scheduled for November 2024. The meeting was chaired by TUPSA’s Chairman, Grace Matsiko, and attended by representatives from leading security firms including Cyclop Security, K Lions, Saracene, and marketing agency, Adris Digital Africa, among others.

This strategic meeting underscored the vital role of the private security sector in supporting national security efforts. It provided an opportunity for key stakeholders to align on the objectives of the upcoming symposium, which promises to be a landmark event for the industry.

The Private Security Symposium is set to take place at the prestigious Golden Tulip Hotel in Kampala, although the exact date is yet to be confirmed. This symposium will serve as a critical platform for industry leaders, policymakers, and security practitioners to engage in high-level discussions on pressing security challenges, emerging trends, and the future direction of private security in Uganda.

Chairman Grace Matsiko reiterated the importance of this gathering, stating, “This symposium will not only enhance collaboration across the security industry but also elevate the standards and practices that govern private security operations in Uganda. It is a key step in professionalizing the sector and ensuring we remain at the forefront of innovation and best practices.”

Discussions at the meeting revolved around the agenda of the symposium, which will focus on knowledge sharing, capacity building, and exploring new technologies that can be leveraged to bolster security operations in the private sector. The representatives emphasized the need for an inclusive approach that will benefit both large-scale security providers and smaller firms, ensuring all players have an opportunity to contribute to Uganda’s evolving security landscape.

The symposium, anticipated to attract key decision-makers and industry experts, is expected to address critical issues such as regulatory frameworks, the role of private security in public safety, and the integration of technology in modern security solutions. TUPSA’s commitment to driving these conversations reflects its position as the leading voice for Uganda’s private security sector.

As preparations continue, the Private Security Symposium is poised to be a game-changing event, bringing together the best minds and leading organizations in the security space to drive progress and innovation. More details about the event, including its date and program, will be communicated in the coming weeks.

This upcoming gathering is a testament to TUPSA’s dedication to advancing the industry and ensuring Uganda’s private security sector continues to grow in both professionalism and influence.
